  1. Develop Creativity

    • Organize the youths to put together their own play. Perhaps let one of the youths write the play, let another direct it and have the rest perform or create the scenery. Then rehearse and perform the play for their families and friends. Offer classes in painting or clay modeling. If your organization has any sort of events or takes any field trips, encourage the youths to remember these events with scrapbooking. Organizing and decorating the pages will feed their creative instincts. Let the youths decorate bulletin boards. Perhaps put together and publish/print a collection of short stories written by the youths.

    Develop Physical Fitness

    • A healthy body is as important as a healthy mind. Organize team sports such as volleyball, tag football, soccer, basketball, etc. Exercise is a good way to reduce the stress accumulated throughout the day. Teach the children the value of working out after a mentally exhausting day. Even children and teens have stress. Let physical training be a tool for stress management. Also offer non-team activities. Perhaps offer classes in karate, dance, gymnastics or even yoga.

    Develop Character & Leadership

    • Teach youths about other cultures so they develop an understanding and appreciation of their differences. Celebrate a variety of cultural holidays. Organize the youths for civic activities. Perhaps adopt a stretch of highway and keep it clean of litter. Have the youths vote for leaders (president, secretary, treasurer, historian, etc) to form a charitable organization. They can then decide on how they will fund raise for their charity..
